Do It Yourself (DIY) bike repair

We have in-the-shop DIY service on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

This means that you can enter the space and work on your own bike. We provide the space, tools, and volunteer guidance to help you work on your own bicycle.

Please read the sections below for more information:

Bikes for sale

We are working to have as many good quality, ready-to-ride bikes available as possible.

Bikes become available for sale once our rebuild process, detailed checks and pricing are complete. Once a bike starts the rebuild process, we can't predict when it will be completed - quality takes time.
The bikes that are available are the ones on the rack with prices marked on the attached orange sheet.

Bikes are priced competitively so that they are easily affordable but are high enough to discourage selfish people from reselling them at a higher price. Bike prices are usually in the $160 to $400 range.

We strongly recommend that you test ride the bike to ensure that its working to your satisfaction and that its comfortable for you. Please bring some form of identification or collateral as a deposit for the test ride.

When you buy a bike from bikeSauce you’ll know that you are not supporting the theft economy and that you have helped divert goods from the landfill.

If you don't see the type of bike you're looking for on the sale rack and are handy with repairing bicycles, you have the option to purchase a bike 'as is'. These bikes have been donated to us but we haven't started work on them, so our assumption is that they are NOT yet safe to ride. Pricing for these bikes will be determined by our volunteers and will be based on quality of parts and frameset. If you're interested in looking at 'as is' bikes, a volunteer can direct you.
Note:  Bikes that we have started rebuild work on may not be purchased 'as is'.

Used parts

We sell second-hand, good-quality parts to help you get your bike back in shape.

Please bring your bicycle with you when you come to the shop. With your bike at hand we can determine which used parts will work best as replacements.

Used parts do not have a fixed price as they vary in quality and wear, but we try to keep it incredibly reasonable.

New parts

We carry a small selection of affordable new parts such as:

- tires and tubes
- cables and housing
- brakes
- chains
- home and portable repair tools
- locks and lights
- and more!

If you are looking for something specific, are seeking a brand-name item or something fancy, we encourage you to visit one of the many local bike shops in Toronto.

For basic questions about new parts, please contact us on Instagram, Facebook or Email us at  info@bikesauce.org .
